Birchbox Review – April Birchbox x Cath Kidston

Until last month I had never tried any beauty or subscription boxes before. In March I decided I wanted to give one a try and chose the Glossybox, because it was very pink and pretty. I enjoyed the whole process a lot, the excitement of not knowing what exactly you’re going to get is such fun. When April came around I signed up to receive both the Glossybox and the Birchbox.

For the month of April Birchbox teamed up with Cath Kidston to celebrate the brands 25th birthday. This collaboration paid off immensely. The design of the box is stunningly decorated with Cath Kidston’s design. Since this is my first ever Birchbox I’m not sure if this is an ongoing thing, but inside smells heavenly. Even my fiancé commented on this when I first opened it.

Cath Kidston Meadow Posy Hand Cream

Styled with Cath Kidston’s iconic floral print the look is dreamy, as is the texture of the hand cream and the scent even more so. I’ve never tried Cath Kidston products before, but this is apparently their signature scent and I’m already repurchasing from the Birch store. It’s only £2.50!! I’m kind of sad this is a limited edition though, and it’s exclusive to Birchbox. I really recommend if you like floral hand creams you pick this up as soon as you can because I know I will be.

Model Co Baked Highlighter (Moonshine)

With this months box you had a choice between two glowing highlighters (Moonshine of Frose) from Model Co. I left mine as a surprise as I liked both the shades equally in the pictures. I received Moonshine, which is a stunning golden highlighter with a glimmering marble design on it. I’ll admit it’s A LOT smaller than I expected, but instead of that disappointing me I think it’s blooming adorable. I’ve applied this with my fingers and the glow is exceptional I’m already loving this highlighter.

Beautaniq Beauty Fill and Tame Brow Gel

I’ve never purchased eyebrow products before. I’m always too scared to just jump in as I’ve no idea where to start. I think this brow gel was the perfect starting place for me, it’s easy to apply and real straightforward to get the look you want. Once this has ran out I’ll be repurchasing for sure. This really did help keep my unruly brows in place throughout the day.

Beauty Protector Protect and Volume

The scent of this alone could be enough to have me buying more. I had my hair done at the hairdressers last week and as always was dreading the first wash, particularly about losing the new fresh style. I was hoping I’d be able to somehow keep the volume and shine. Then this absolute beauty arrived and honestly did everything I needed it to. I’ve also added the detangler from this brand to my basket as it supposedly has the same scent and if it’s anything like this product I’ll be thrilled to have it in my hair care collection.

Birchbox Brush Cleaner

I’ve been looking at purchasing a brush cleaner, but hadn’t gotten around to picking one up so this came at the perfect time. I’m loving the peachy colour this one has too.

(Free Gift) Spectrum Collections Brush and Cargo Cosmetics Blush (Beach Blush)

This gorgeous duo was a free gift when signing up to Birchbox in April. The blusher is lovely and very much a spring time blusher as it has four different shades, two of them being of a more bronzer kind of shade on myself. I’m super excited to use this once the weather in England brightens up a little. The brush is *UGH* the softest thing I’ve ever had the pleasure of dragging across my face and I NEED the full collection as soon as possible.

If this months box is anything to go by I’m very glad I decided to sign up to Birchbox and I’ll hopefully be a long time customer.

If you’re looking to subscribe to Birchbox click here to receive £5 off of your first box. That’s half price!
This also helps me out too.

Oh my gosh, how cute is this box!? So glad to hear I’m not the only blogger out there who hasn’t tried sub boxes yet. What a cute box to get started with. That brow gel sounds interesting. I’m a total brow novice myself so if you think it’s a good starting point I’ll have to check it out!

I was a Birchbox subscriber all last year, they are good but I had to stop because I have a drawerful of products that I need to finish up! I’ve got the brush cleaner (it’s fab) and a few Spectrum brushes (soooo soft) and the detangler which is a-may-zing. The box design is a monthly thing, they team up with a different brand each month 🙂 So glad you liked your first box, fingers crossed for May! Also, your photos are beautiful 🙂 x

I’ve only ever received one Birchbox – which I won – and I was happy with it but I would LOVE this one. Cath Kidston is heavenly and I adore their hand creams. Also how pretty is this box?!

You received some amazing goodies. I loved the highlighter and the packaging of this box is gorgeous. The floral design is beautiful. I am glad that you enjoyed your box. Even I never subscribed to any beauty box earlier but a few month back I subscribed to Boxycharm and I feel I made a very good decision. 🙂
